Albert William Arnzen Obituary

Albert William Arnzen, 55, of Laflin, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, January 25, 2022.

 Born on October 19, 1966, at Cape Girardeau, Missouri, he was the son of the late Ervin and Dorothy Holzum Arnzen.  He and Cindy Kimbel were married at St. John’s Catholic Church on July 22, 1989.  She survives. 

Albert was a 1985 graduate of Woodland High School and has worked at “Do It Best” Corporation for the past 37 years.  Along with his wife, they own and operate the “Leopold Country Store”. 

 He was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church and active in the Leopold community.  Albert served as a member and officer of the Knights of Columbus and was recognized as the “Knight of the Year” in 1995.  He also coached softball for his daughters’ teams and was instrumental in the promotion of sports’ programs in the Leopold area.

 Left to cherish his memory are his two loving daughters, Desiree (Levi) Felter of Whitewater, Missouri, and Denai (Andy) Beck of Scott City, Missouri; and three grandsons, Jude, Rynn, and Heath Felter. 

 Besides his wife and daughters, Albert also leaves behind three sisters and two brothers:  Sharon Arnzen of Manchester and Laflin, Missouri; Dorothy (Rick) Green of Whitewater, Missouri; Helen (Steve) Thomas of Coral Springs, Florida; and Douglas (Lois) Arnzen and Leo (Tammy) Arnzen of Leopold, Missouri.  Also, sister-in-law, Lana (the late Ervin) Arnzen of Kelso, Missouri, and Shannon and Randy Pogue and Dennis Kimbel of Marble Hill, Missouri. He is also survived by many adoring nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Ervin and John Arnzen.; niece, Jessica Arnzen; and nephew, Taylor Arnzen.

Visitation will be on Monday, January 31, 2022, from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at St. John’s Catholic Church, Leopold, Missouri.  Parish rosary and prayers will begin at 7:00 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Leopold, Missouri. The burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery. 

 The arrangements are under the care of Hutchings Funeral Chapel.
