Dempsey, Phyllis A. (Connolly) of Dracut, formerly of Medford passed away peacefully at the age of 90 on January 25, 2022 in her home surrounded by family.<br/><br/>Daughter of the late Harold L. Connolly and Elizabeth R. (Field) Connolly. Loving sister of Dorothy Conroy of Arlington and Dr. Edward Connolly of California. She is predeceased by her brothers Harold Connolly and James Connolly. Beloved mother to Carol McCarthy of Dracut and Barry Dempsey of Boston. Grandmother of Shannon Hancock, James McCarthy and his wife Katie McCarthy, and Sean McCarthy. Proud great grandmother to Leah Hancock, Noah and William McCarthy. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.<br/><br/>Phyllis grew up and spent most of her life in Medford. She worked for the US Post Office until the age of 50 when she put herself through nursing school. She worked as a nurse until her retirement. Phyllis loved the beach, shopping, her dogs and her favorite times were spent with family.<br/><br/>Relatives and friends are invited to Phyllis' funeral mass on Wednesday Feb. 2nd in Saint Raphael's Church, High St., West Medford at 11 am (masks are required). Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
