          Mr. Dennis Wayne McLain, age 62, affectionately known to his family and friends as "DD," entered into rest on Tuesday, January 25, 2022. Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Sunday, January 30, 2022 from the Chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home by Rev. Steven McLain, Bro. Tommy Bailey, and Brent Taylor with burial to follow in the St. John Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 2:00 – 3:00 PM Sunday, prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the home of Kandyce Cail, 3995 Turnage Rd, Patrick, SC.

 

          Due to COVID-19 regulations, our staff is committed to taking care of our guests and families that we serve. We also ask all guests and family members attending visitations and services to please continue social distancing and if desired to bring and wear a mask.

 

          Mr. McLain was born May 25, 1959 in Chesterfield, SC a son of the late Harold P. and Helen V. Talbert McLain. He was a 1978 graduate of Cheraw High School and received his HVAC degree from Chesterfield – Marlboro TEC. He was a life-long member of St. John Freewill Baptist Church. Dennis retired from Food Lion with over 20 years of service and a former employee of B.C. Moore’s. A man with a larger-than-life personality, Dennis never met a stranger and always had a special place in his heart for children. His favorite teams to pull for was the USC Gamecocks, the Dallas Cowboys, and he was a die-hard Jeff Gordon fan. His favorite pastime was watching countless series of crime shows.

 

          In addition to his parents, Mr. McLain was also preceded in death by his brother, William “Billy” Harold McLain; and numerous other extended family members.

 

          Survivors include his sister, Virginia McLain Smith of Cheraw, SC; niece & daughter of the heart, Kandyce Cail and fiancé, Ben Dimento, and her children, Joshua Lee Cail, Jr., Ashtin Patrick Cail, and Charlee McLain Light; aunts, Margaret Teal, and Faye (Bradley) Eddins both of Chesterfield, SC, Louise Hill of Patrick, SC, and Carolyn (Donald) Sellers of Chesterfield, SC.

 

          Memorials may be made to Agape Hospice, 115 North Fifth Street, Hartsville, SC 29550.
