Susan Lucille Westcott, 85 passed on January 18, 2022. Her legacy continues in her loving husband of 64 years Lloyd Westcott, sisters Carol Julian and Rachel Hayashi, sister-in-law Luella Henderson (Bob), her FAB 5 daughters Barbara (Bea), Cindy (Dave), Carrie (Tom), Kim (Andrew), Molly (Bob), 24 Grandchildren, a bakers dozen of GiGi’s Great Grandchildren and a multitude of friends that extended her family circle.



Born in Portland Oregon to John Joesph and Alice Lucille Julian, She lived most of her childhood in Tigard, Oregon and was part of the first graduating class from the new Tigard High School where she enjoyed being in band, home economics and glee clubs. After a short time at Lewis and Clark College she attended and graduated from Oregon State University with a bachelors degree in Business Education and Home Economics, where “little Susan“ met her “darling Lloyd”.



Sue was respected and admired for her exceptional management skills in the church office, land surveying business, travel agency and baby store she owned. Her passion was to make peoples travel experiences flawless and magical. Sue was so well loved in the baby industry many referred to her as “Momma Sue”.



Her life legacy was built on combining her love of family, service, food, travel, fellowship, hard work, camping, music and laughter. Walking through the doors of the homes she built with Lloyd in Corvallis, Oregon and Polson, Montana you could feel the instant welcome, love, laughter and comfort that were her gifts from the heart.



It was often said if she wasn’t in the kitchen she was in the garden. She loved “having people over” which usually meant plenty of home cooked food, brownies, pinochle, music, laughter, and sending you home with something from the garden or kitchen. Christmas was an especially meaningful time. She loved trimming the home for the holidays with her well adorned 13 foot trees, baking cookies, and hosting family and friends. It gave her such joy.



She gave many youth the true meaning of “Momma Bear” as her caring and kindness knew no bounds. She mentored youth in 4-H and church youth groups. She was a rock to many as she helped us all get through our oopsie daisies. It was important to her that children felt respected so they could learn.



She volunteered her time and talent helping others both locally and across the United States by participating in several mission trips and hurricane disaster relief efforts. She provided human connection during times of uncertainty and rebuilding communities. Never afraid to do hard work.



She gave her “Susie Touch” to adult programs, 4-F, and the Folk Choir at Corvallis First United Methodist Church. She also loved helping the ladies with the Bazaar each winter at Polson United Methodist Church.



The last 20 years, her dream of cultivating connection and belonging was realized as family, friends and strangers alike gathered at the Montana Legacy House. It was her home away from home, were she felt a true connection to nature and a place of zen. Where the sense of simpler times was felt by all.



Mom moved mountains for her Fab 5 daughters and found great joy in watching their growing service to community. They were her everything!



Many loved ones gathered and were supported by the blessings of Connected Home Health and Hospice as Susan was ushered into heaven with a reading of her favorite book “The Giving Tree”, singing of special songs and finally Johnny Appleseed Grace with a big AMEN.
