Julia was born on October 3, 1937, in Lehighton, PA to the late Stanley and Margaret (Emmert) LaRose. Shortly after her birth, Julia’s family relocated to Syracuse, NY for her dad’s employment with Carrier Corporation. She attended North Syracuse High School and graduated from Gettysburg College in Gettysburg, PA in 1961. After college, she travelled with her first husband to Chicago, Il, Armonk, NY and finally settling in Cambridge, MA. Julia worked as a secretary at Sunbeam Corp while in Chicago and Baybank Harvard Trust while in Cambridge. While in Armonk, Julia welcomed her daughter Cheryl and was a stay-at-home mom. Julia moved to the North Shore 25 years ago to take care of her grandson Timothy when he was born. Julia has always been involved in the Lutheran Church wherever she lived. Growing up in Syracuse, it was Luther Memorial, in Armonk it was Triumphant Cross and in Peabody it has been St. John Lutheran. She was a member of the choir, worked in the church office and participated in various volunteer activities such as Haven from Hunger in Peabody, MA. Nothing made her happier than spending time with her grandchildren and enjoying their activities. She is survived by a daughter, Cheryl L. Cormier; two grandchildren Timothy and Annalise Cormier; a brother Bruce E. LaRose of Syracuse, NY; a niece Karen E. MacDowall of Brewerton, NY. Her Funeral Service will be held at St. John Lutheran Church in Peabody 32 Ellsworth Road, Peabody, MA 01960 on Friday January 28th, 2022, at 10:30 am. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
