William M. Mathias, 44, of 420 N. Webster, Ottumwa, died at 5:53 p.m. January 22, 2022 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. He was born June 17, 1977 in Ottumwa to Ray Mark and Cindy Hazelett Mathias. A graduate of Eddyville High School, Bill had worked at several fast-food restaurants including Long John Silvers and Arby’s. Bill enjoyed collecting action figures and playing video games. Surviving is his niece, Sierra Shively; a sister, Dorothy (Glen) Hume of Monroe; and 5 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Jennifer Shively; and a brother, Rodney Worley. His body has been cremated. A memorial service may be planned at a later date.
