Harriet Louise Benefiel, 63, of Westerville, died Sunday, January 23, 2022, at The Ohio State University Medical Center, in Columbus.

Harriet was born March 24, 1958, in Mount Vernon to Joseph and Nell {Lang} Chase.

She graduated from the Ohio State School for the Deaf in 1978.

Harriet married Robert Benefiel on June 17, 1978.

She worked for over twenty years for the Mount Vernon Developmental Center. She was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church of Mount Vernon. Harriet loved her cats, traveling, cheering for Ohio State Football, and the Pittsburgh Steelers, as well as making arts and crafts.

Harriet will be deeply missed by her children Robert (Christina) Benefiel and Jeffery Benefiel; sisters Virginia (Michael) McKay, Rachel Chase, and Ruth Chase

Friends may call Thursday from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home- Mount Vernon Chapel, Mount Vernon. Funeral services will be Friday at 11:00 at the funeral home with Pastor Dan Pelton officiating. Burial will be at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
