<p><span style="font-size:14px;"><strong>Carolyn Carter McClain, age 70, of Mynhier Road, Morehead, passed away Sunday, January 23, 2022, at St. Claire HealthCare in Morehead.</strong></span></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><span style="font-size:14px;"><strong>Born January 25, 1951, in West Liberty, she was a daughter of the late Harlan Carter and Mary Elizabeth Ferguson Carter.&nbsp; Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Junior Carter, Harlan Carter, and Larry Cecil Carter, and two sisters, Ella Stamper and Eva Gay McClain.&nbsp;</strong></span></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><span style="font-size:14px;"><strong>Carolyn&rsquo;s husband of 46 years, Luther David &ldquo;Bud&rdquo; McClain, whom she married April 14, 1968, also preceded her in death on March 10, 2015.</strong></span></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><span style="font-size:14px;"><strong>Carolyn is survived by six sons and daughters-in-law, David and Staci McClain, Tony and Kim McClain, Danny and Sandra McClain, Jeff and Sue Lyn McClain, Larry and Annie McClain, and Chuck McClain, all of Morehead; 11 grandchildren, Emily McClain, Derek McClain, Brianna McClain Stevens, Tiffany McClain Stevens, Austin McClain, Heather Henderson, Keshia McClain, Taylor McClain, David McClain, Zack McClain, and Dalton McClain; and 14 great grandchildren, Colby Dillon, Jackson Stegall, Bentlee Henderson, Macy Goodan, Raelynn Goodan, Rowann McClain, Kamren Stevens, Raylynn Stevens, Shyann Stevens, Jhett Cox-Stevens, Andrew Stevens, Alice Stevens, Elizabeth McClain, and Amelia McClain.</strong></span></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><span style="font-size:14px;"><strong>Other survivors include one sister, Shirley Moore of Morehead; four brothers, Carl Carter of Texas, Gary Wayne Carter of Clearfield, Paul Ray Carter of Morehead, and David Thomas Carter of Morehead; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.&nbsp;</strong></span></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><span style="font-size:14px;"><strong>Carolyn was a homemaker who enjoyed sewing, cooking, reading, and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.&nbsp; She was of the Church of God faith and will be greatly missed by all who loved her. &nbsp;</strong></span></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><span style="font-size:14px;"><strong>Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at Northcutt &amp; Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Willie Sturgill officiating.&nbsp; Burial will follow in Brown Cemetery.&nbsp; Sons will serve as pallbearers.</strong></span></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><span style="font-size:14px;"><strong>Visitation is from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, January 25, 2022, at Northcutt &amp; Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.</strong></span></p>

Carolyn Carter McClain, age 70, of Mynhier Road, Morehead, passed away Sunday, January 23, 2022, at St. Claire HealthCare in Morehead.

 

Born January 25, 1951, in West Liberty, she was a daughter of the late Harlan Carter and Mary Elizabeth Ferguson Carter.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Junior Carter, Harlan Carter, and Larry Cecil Carter, and two sisters, Ella Stamper and Eva Gay McClain. 

 

Carolyn’s husband of 46 years, Luther David “Bud” McClain, whom she married April 14, 1968, also preceded her in death on March 10, 2015.

 

Carolyn is survived by six sons and daughters-in-law, David and Staci McClain, Tony and Kim McClain, Danny and Sandra McClain, Jeff and Sue Lyn McClain, Larry and Annie McClain, and Chuck McClain, all of Morehead; 11 grandchildren, Emily McClain, Derek McClain, Brianna McClain Stevens, Tiffany McClain Stevens, Austin McClain, Heather Henderson, Keshia McClain, Taylor McClain, David McClain, Zack McClain, and Dalton McClain; and 14 great grandchildren, Colby Dillon, Jackson Stegall, Bentlee Henderson, Macy Goodan, Raelynn Goodan, Rowann McClain, Kamren Stevens, Raylynn Stevens, Shyann Stevens, Jhett Cox-Stevens, Andrew Stevens, Alice Stevens, Elizabeth McClain, and Amelia McClain.

Visitation is from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, January 25, 2022, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
