Quana Sue Mitchell

Born on September 6, 1940, to Bill and Mae (McGee) Hood. She married Buddie E. Mitchell on Aug 30th, 1963 at Duenweg Assembly of God, Duenweg, Mo, he survives.<br/><br/>Quana Sue and Buddie had one son, Joseph Raymond, he preceded her in death in December of 2018. Quana Sue and Buddie adopted Joe’s best friend Chris Pliler as their own, he survives. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. Quana Sue had three siblings, sisters Shirley Carter of Joplin, Mo, Greta Ball of Diamond, Mo, and brother Steve Hood of Cherryvale, Ks.<br/><br/>Quana Sue attended school in Duenweg through her graduation in May of 1958. She enjoyed her education process at Duenweg and tried to stay in touch with as many of her former classmates as possible. <br/>She went to Duenweg Assembly of God Church from the age of 5 to shortly before her death. Quana Sue had a wonderful relationship with God, she felt it was a privilege to pray for and with any and everyone. <br/>She had a very generous heart and would go out of her way to make anyone feel special. <br/><br/>Quana Sue worked in cosmetology for about 17 years and went to school at Bogueso Beauty School of Joplin. After beauty school she opened her own shop, Quana Sue’s Beauty Shop at 1031 Broadway and 1705 Missouri. Because of her education in cosmetology and her gift to gab, Quana Sue was very successful in business. <br/><br/>Funeral services have been scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at the Mason-Woodard Chapel. Burial will follow at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery in Joplin, Mo. The family will receive friends during a time of visitation on Wednesday beginning at 1:00 p.m. prior to the service.<br/><br/>Arrangements have been entrusted to Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory.
