Michael Haynes Obituary
Michael Keith Haynes, 56, of La Porte, passed away peacefully at 2:34 p.m., Sunday, January 23, 2022 at Northwest Hospital, La Porte.
He was born April 22, 1965, in Harvey, Illinois, to Leonard Haynes and Diane Podlasek.
Michael faithfully watched church services from Vista De La Montana United Methodist Church, in Tucson, Arizona. He enjoyed watching football, golf, baseball, Law & Order, the ID channel, Clint Eastwood and John Wayne movies, and Hallmark christmas movies. Michael formerly enjoyed fishing and hunting as a child, he loved going to the upper peninsula of Wisconsin to Apostle Island where his grandparents owned a house and he loved spending time there. Michael had a bond with his dog, Abby that was special. Michael and Abby were always together and inseparable. He also shared a very special bond with his step father, Ken.
On May 7, 2007, in Michigan City, Indiana, he married Lisa Ann (Wenclaff) Haynes, who survives.
Also surviving are his stepfather and mother, Diane and Kenneth Podlasek of Oro Valley, Arizona; two children, Ashley Haynes and James Haynes both of La Porte; one brother, Todd (Garry) Haynes of San Diego, California; and two grandchildren Ma’leah and Mariah Lockett.
Preceding in death were his father, Leonard Haynes; and grandparents, Everlyn and Elmer Sharkey.
Cremation will take place. A private celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Lakeview Funeral Home & Crematory, 247 W. Johnson Rd., La Porte, (219) 362-3100 is caring for the arrangements.
