Nancy Lee Maher
Nancy Lee Maher, a resident of The Linden assisted living community in Woodbridge, CT passed away at Yale New Haven Hospital in New Haven on January 23, 2022. She was 90 years old. Nancy was born on February 14, 1931, the first of 4 children to the late Albert and Mabel Lee of Darien, CT where she resided for most of her life. She relocated to the Heritage Village retirement community in Southbury, CT in 2006 and then to The Linden in 2018. <br/><br/><br/>Nancy graduated from Darien High School and was a long-time member of the Noroton Presbyterian Church. She was married to the late Eugene G. Maher, also of Darien and was employed as a bookkeeper for the Darien Medical Group for more than 30 years. After retiring to Southbury, she became a member of the South Britain Congregational Church.<br/><br/><br/>Nancy, a cancer survivor, was an avid reader, enjoyed singing, bird watching, Uconn women's basketball, and doing crossword and jigsaw puzzles. She also enjoyed using her computer, following social media and texting her family on her flip phone. She was predeceased by her husband of 58 years and her sister Alberta Lee. She is survived by her sister Linda Morehouse of Southbury, CT, brother Rev. Robert R. Lee of North Carolina, son Brian Maher (Bophal) of Cambodia, son Stephen Maher (Sandy) of Seymour, CT and grandchildren Kevin, Matthew, Ryan, Alana and Jordon Maher.<br/><br/><br/>A private interment will be held at Spring Grove Cemetery, and a memorial service will be held at a date to be determined. The Lawrence Funeral Home in Darien is handling the arrangements. Memorial donations can be made to the South Britain Congregational Church of Southbury, CT, a faith community that was dear to Nancy's heart.
