Margaret Jean "Marge" Diemer

MARGARET JEAN “MARGE” (ROE), age 93, formerly of University Heights, Ohio, born March 29, 1928 in Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin; died January 23, 2022 in Cleveland. Marge spent her youth in Floral Park, New York, and matriculated to Chestnut Hill College, prior to earning an MA at Columbia University. Upon graduating, she taught middle school, then became a flight attendant. She married Pierre “Pete” Diemer in 1956, and they welcomed eight children into their lives. A woman of deep faith, she found a life-long community at Gesu Parish. While raising her children, Marge earned an MA in counseling from John Carroll University, and forged a new career as counselor and instructor at Ursuline College. Marge was preceded in death by her husband, Pierre R. Diemer; parents, Charles F. Roe and Mary Roe (Hanlon); brother, Charles Roe; and sister, Kathleen Mortell. Marge is survived by her brother, Robert “Bob” Roe; children, Pete (Katie) of San Jose, California, Bob (Siovonne) of San Francisco, California, Dan (Sue) of Cincinnati, Kathy Cosgrove (Bob) of La Grange, Illinois, John (Susie) of Shaker Heights, Peggy Boyd (Steve) of San Diego, California, Ginger Attarian (Archie) of Arlington, Virginia and Mary Ann Dobbins (Curtis) of Cleveland Heights; 16 grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, May 27, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. at the Church of the Gesu in University Heights. Interment will be private.
