SUMTER – Mary Etta Lawhon Barnes, 77, widow of Charles Ronnie Barnes, died Saturday, January 22, 2022, at McLeod Regional Medical Center. Born April 19, 1944, in Olanta, she was a daughter of the late Duncan Woodrow Lawhon and the late Marie Gertrude Sims Lawhon. She was a member of Bethesda Church of God. She is survived by three sons, Charles “Ricky” Barnes (Robin) of Summerton, Ronnie “Timothy” Barnes (Brenda) of Dalzell and “Mickey” Charles Barnes (Camie) of Manning; seven grandchildren, Rachel Barnes, Kacie Barnes (Blake Boyce), Casey McCutcheon, Jackson Timothy Barnes, Ethan Skylar Barnes, Ansli Parker Barnes and Hunter Lane Barnes; three great grandchildren, Cameron Barnes, Jonathan Turner and Layken Cheek; a great granddaughter due in two weeks, Mary Madelyn; and a brother, Woodrow Lawhon of Olanta. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Angie. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, January 25, 2022, at Clarendon Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Al Sims officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the graveside service. Stephens Funeral Home & Crematory, 304 N.
