Patricia Ann Samo

The service will be livestreamed from WBT's YouTube Channel. YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC2G5D6TA-ywpSJCERaAzG_Q Patricia Ann Samo was received in the arms of Jesus on January 22, 2022 at the age of 81. Her last few hours were spent surrounded by her daughters. Patricia was born on May 23, 1940 to Jack and Golda (Scharff) Nicholson in Oskaloosa, Iowa. She graduated from Oskaloosa High School in 1958. Following school, she married Robert Regan and they had 3 children, Tony, Leland, and Renee. Following her marriage to Robert Regan she married James Samo and together they had Tina, Tonya, and Jay. Although she experienced many jobs in her life, what she thoroughly enjoyed the most was working at the YMCA, volunteering at Bibles for Mission and being a grandmother and great-grandmother. In true Christian style she was always helping, guiding, and supporting them with selfless Christian love. In 2011 she was selected as the “Outstanding Older Worker” by the Southwestern Minnesota Opportunity Council. It is most certain that the reason she received this was because of her infectious smile and joyful greeting that she displayed to everyone. It was during these times that the most important day to her became a reality and in August 23, 2000 Patricia Samo found the lord and was saved. Her new life became widely known as she soon discovered her purpose in life. With the gifts that she was provided she could be heard daily, and with reverence, the joy she felt as she proclaimed the gospel to everyone she met. As a charter member of Worthington Baptist Temple, she was proud of being the oldest one in her church and gleaned with pride when the children of the church would call her grandma. She was truly grateful for her church family and relished in the love and support they showed her over the last 18 years. Patricia is survived by her brothers, Joe (Debbie) Nicholson Oskaloosa, IA, Dan (Lois) Nicholson, Beacon, IA, sons Tony Regan and Leland Regan. Daughters Tina (Todd)Lowe of Hartford, SD, Tonya (Mike)Searles of Sioux Falls, 9 Grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Jack and Golda Nicholson, sister Judy, brother Jack, husbands Robert Regan and James Samo, daughter Renee Regan and son James Jr Samo. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 27, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at the Benson Funeral Home in Worthington, MN and also one hour prior to the service at the church. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 28, 2022, at 11:00 a.m., with a luncheon to follow, at the Worthington Baptist Temple in Worthington, MN, with Pastor James Sickmeyer officiating. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Worthington Baptist Temple Missionary at 1508 Douglas Ave, Worthington, MN 56187. Benson Funeral Home in Worthington is in charge of the arrangements.
