<p><strong><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;">Jean W. Laurenson, 89, of Lorain passed away on Thursday, January 13, 2022 at Kingston of Vermilion following a long illness.</span></span></strong></p> <p><strong><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;">Ms. Laurenson was born on February 27, 1932, the daughter of the late Arthur W. and Margaret S. (nee Scott) Laurenson.</span></span></strong></p> <p><strong><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;">She was a member of the Lorain High School graduating class of 1950. She attended the Lorain Light House United Methodist Church.</span></span></strong></p> <p><strong><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;">Ms. Laurenson retired as the benefits coordinator with Standard Oil, retiring in 1984. She was a member of the Red Hatters. After every visit when leaving, we would say goodbye until tomorrow and she always said, “I hope so dear!” Aunt Jean will be truly missed.</span></span></strong></p> <p><strong><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;">Jean is survived by her nieces Lori (Chris) Stack of Lorain, Lisa (Thomas) Donovan of North Olmsted and a a nephew David (Tami) Roth of Jackson, WI. Also survived by childhood friend, Nancy (nee Nugent) Ziel and longtime friend Lou (Rick) Andrews of Cleveland.</span></span></strong></p> <p><strong><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;">Graveside services are being planned for early spring and will be announced. Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park Amherst, OH.</span></span></strong></p> <p><strong><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;">The family suggest that memorial contributions may be made to Friendship-APL, 8303 Murray Ridge Road., Elyria, Ohio 44035.</span></span></strong></p> <p><strong><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;">Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home for Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain assisted the family with the arrangements.</span></span></strong></p>February 27, 1932 - January 13, 202202/27/193201/13/2022
