Cove Cantrell

Cove Cantrell, age 84, of Piqua, OH went home to be with his Lord and savior Jesus Christ at 11:49 P.M. on Thursday, January 20, 2022 at Ohio’s Hospice Miami County Inpatient Unit, Troy, OH. He was born July 4, 1937 to the late Carl and Minnie (Wright) Cantrell. On July 26, 1958 in West Liberty, KY Cove married Virginia R. (Pennington) Cantrell and she preceded him in death on October 15, 2015. Cove is survived by one son and daughter-in-law: David A. (Lisa) Cantrell, Piqua, OH; one daughter and son-in-law Tricia (David) Bowman, Piqua, OH; one grandson: Douglas (Ashley) Cantrell, Piqua, OH; and three great-grandchildren: Levi Smith; Madison Cantrell; and Dimitri Cantrell all of Piqua, OH. He was preceded in death by three sisters: Ethelene Goolsby, Goldie Cantrell, Frona Margaret Peyton and three brothers: Bronis Cantrell, Buford Cantrell and Buel Cantrell. Cove loved to watch his grandchildren play sports for many years and he especially loved to maintain his beautiful yard. He worked as Val Decker Packing Co., Piqua, OH for 17 years and was a night watchman at Medalist for many years. Cove was a professional painter for over 40 years and owned and operated Cove Cantrell Painting Service in Piqua, OH. Graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family with arrangements being handled by Melcher-Sowers Funeral Home in Piqua, OH.
