Devin R. Kemp
It is with great saddens that we announce the loss of Devin Russell Kemp, age 24, born on June 8, 1997, in Hamilton, N.Y., to his very proud parents Amy Jo (Mikalunas) Kemp and Donald Russell Kemp of Cassville N.Y. Devin was taken way too soon to be with his biggest fan grandpa, Vic Mikalunas, in heaven after a tragic snowmobile accident, on January 16, 2022. Besides his parents, Devin also left behind his brother Dustin Kemp, (fiancée Alexx,) and their son Carter Kemp, age 7; his sister Olivia Kemp; his grandma Sandy Mikalunas: his aunt and uncles, Tina and Rob Sharp, Wendy and Chuck Marland, Chad and Mary Mikalunas; cousins: Andy and Alex Sharp, Jack, Cale, Mason, Logan Marland, Aaron Dooley, Jesse Liddle, and many friends whom loved him dearly. Devin also leaves behind his chocolate lab Rugger, his best friend that he loved dearly.
Devin always followed in his brothers’ footsteps and had great work ethics. He started working at the Curtain Dairy Farm in Cassville, N.Y., along with his father and brother, while attending high school. Devin graduated from Mt. Markham High School in 2016; where he made many friends and memories. Devin attended UTI, (Universal Technical Institute,) in Pennsylvania for Diesel Mechanics in 2018. Devin worked at Utica Mack for two years, alongside his brother. Devin’s present job was working at Burrell’s in Norwich, N.Y. At Burrell’s, he enjoyed working on many different pieces of equipment and feeling like a team and part of their family.
Devin loved deer and duck hunting, fishing, campfires, and modifying his truck. Devin loved most of all spending time with his brother Dustin. He was one of his greatest role models. Devin loved teaching his nephew, Carter, everything he knew, some good, and a lot of bad, together, they had many laughs together. He loved 4-wheelers, dirt bikes, snowmobiles and living large. He was born and raised pure country. A hand full of movies Devin enjoyed are the Fast and Furious series, Into the Blue, Tommy Boy, Hot Chick, and Law A bidding Citizen.
Devin was known for his mischievous grin, fun personality, spending time with his family, making memories and, participating in traditions. Devin had a big kind heart and was always there to help out with anything that anyone needed. He was very neat, clean, and organized. Devin was very strong willed, determined, and expressed his opinions for what he believed in. Devin will be greatly missed every day of our lives, until we get to be together again.
Calling hours will be held at the Paul Funeral Home, 3592 South Street, Madison, on Sunday January 23, 2022 from 2-6 pm. Spring interment will be in Village View Cemetery, Morrisville.
