Sadie Mae Pogue

Sadie Mae Pogue, 87, of Chesapeake, VA, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday January 16th, 2022. Born in Elizabeth City, NC, she was the daughter of the late Sarah Elizabeth Poyner. She was predeceased by her sisters Mildred Simmons and Margaret Hunter and her brothers Manford Gibbs and Arnold Gibbs. Left to cherish Sadie’s memory are her husband, Ron Pogue; sons, Danny Davis (Robin), Larry Davis (Lori); daughter, Bonnie Buchanan (Ronnie); stepsons, Tommy Pogue (Tristan) and Chris Pogue (Kara); grandchildren, Danny Davis, Karen Hobbs, Neil Davis, Lia Cumming, Jeff McNew, and Jamie Lynn Webb; former daughter-in-law and dear friend, Mildred Davis; and numerous great-grandchildren. Sadie’s life will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 28th at Deep Creek Baptist Church, Chesapeake, Virginia. The family will hold a small reception at the church immediately following the ceremony. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association (alz.org). Friends are invited to sign the online guest book and to make online memorial contributions at www.omanfh.com.
