Robert Carrol Collins Obituary

Robert Carroll Collins, age 73, of Smyrna, Delaware, passed away on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at his home. Robert was an avid cat lover. He also loved everything in the trucking Industry. Robert drove a truck for over 40 years with great pride with a few cat companions throughout the years. He would be on one of his long hauls singing his country music to one of his faithful cat companions. On his down time he would read one of his many pocket bibles that he had stashed every where. That would give him piece of mind in troubling times. Robert was close to all of his siblings in his younger years and kept a close bond with Dale and David in his latter part of his life. Today he can breath easy and all his pain is gone. He was loved by his family and friends and we will miss him very much. Robert served in the US Amry during Vietnam from Nov. 2, 1967 to Nov. 6, 1969 82nd Air Borne Unit out of Fort Hood, Texas. Robert was also awarded Vietnam service medal with two Bronze Stars, National Defense Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Marksman (Rifle M-14), Marksman (Rifle M-16) and a Purple Heart medal. Robert was preceeded in death by his Father John Reigh Collins of Gumboro DE, and Mother Dollie Winfild Collins (Lewis) of Gumboro DE. and brother, John Wendel Collins of Ellendale DE.
