Mr. Herbert Lindy Herndon, Sr., age 91, of Danville, went to meet his Lord on Tuesday, January 19, 2022 at his residence.  He was born in the Swansonville community on January 24, 1930, the son of the late Robert C. Herndon, Sr.,  and Eva Ruth H. Herndon.   Mr. Herndon was married to Virginia Wells Herndon, who survives him, of the residence.  He was a US Army veteran, serving in Germany during the Korean War.  He retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company, and was of the Pentecostal Holiness faith.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Herndon is survived by his daughter, Nancy Herndon;  his son, Herbert L. Herndon, Jr. (Edith); a granddaughter, Elizabeth Minter (Michael); great-grandchildren, Kailei, Sydney and Alyson; brothers, Dodd, Charles, and Larry; and a sister, Audrey.  In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by nine siblings.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, January 24, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. at County Line Christian Church Cemetery, Axton, VA.
