<p>Paul S. DuVal &ldquo;The Goose&rdquo;, 80, longtime resident of Buffalo Grove, passed away January 18, 2022.&nbsp; Beloved husband for 58 years of Mary Catherine &ldquo;Cathy&rdquo;, nee Barrowman; loving father of Scot (Lana), Darin and the late Todd; cherished papa of Zoe; dearest brother of Jim and brother-in-law of Larry (Carla) Barrowman; fond uncle of Darcy (Lane) Hodges and Michelle DuVal.</p> <p>Paul served in the Army during the Vietnam Era.&nbsp; He loved animals, particularly dogs and volunteered for Save a Pet for many years where he walked many a dog.&nbsp; Paul had a great passion for coaching and coached the Buffalo Grove Bills Youth Football and BGRA Baseball for more than forty years.&nbsp; He also served as president for both organizations.&nbsp; Paul enjoyed boating and time spent at Captain&rsquo;s Quarters on the Chain of Lakes.&nbsp; He also loved bowling and in his younger days was an avid 16&quot; softball player for the Bruins.</p> <p>A memorial visitation will be held Saturday, February 5th, 1:00 p.m. until time of Celebration of Life at 4:00 p.m. at Matz Funeral Home, 410 E. Rand Rd., Mt. Prospect.&nbsp; Interment Private.</p> <p>In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to <a href="https://saveapetil.ejoinme.org/MyPages/RegistrationPage/tabid/266614/Default.aspx">Save a Pet </a>, 31664 N. Fairfield Rd, Grayslake, IL 60030 or to the charity of your choice.</p>

Obituary

Paul S. DuVal “The Goose”, 80, longtime resident of Buffalo Grove, passed away January 18, 2022.  Beloved husband for 58 years of Mary Catherine “Cathy”, nee Barrowman; loving father of Scot (Lana), Darin and the late Todd; cherished papa of Zoe; dearest brother of Jim and brother-in-law of Larry (Carla) Barrowman; fond uncle of Darcy (Lane) Hodges and Michelle DuVal.
