Master Sergeant Newal Kagor Miller, 71, of Pamplico, husband of Stella Wright Miller, died Thursday, January 20, 2022, at McLeod Hospice House, Florence.

Master Sergeant Miller was born on April 21, 1950, in Florence County, the son of the late Bennie Miller and Mary Pearl Jones Miller. Master Sergeant Miller was an auto mechanic for over 40 years. Every morning he met his friends at the BP Station, loved going to car shows, worked hard in his yard, enjoyed feeding the birds and deer and enjoyed watching westerns and war shows. From 1970-1996 Master Sergeant Miller served in the US Army and the US Army Reserve and received the following awards, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal with Bronze Star, Army Commendation Medal 1st OLC, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, Army Reserve Componets Achievement Medal- 2nd OLC, Army Reserve Components Overseas Training Ribbon and NCO Professional Development Ribbon with 3 device.

Surviving in addition to his wife, Stella Wright Miller of Pamplico, are his daughter, Crystal Miller of Turbeville; son, Casey (Chasity) Miller of Timmonsville; grandchildren, Jessica (Eric) Hopkins and Tyler Miller, both of Coward, and Kayla Miller of Turbeville; great grandchildren, Braelyn Hopkins and Keysen Hopkins, both of Coward, and Easton Miller of Turbeville; sisters, Sandra Daykin and Marilyn (Clarence) Smith, both of Pamplico; his first wife, Patricia Miller Clark of Turbeville; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

Military service will be 1:00 PM, Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at Florence National Cemetery.

Family will receive friends, 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon, Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at Carolina Funeral Home, Scranton.
