Thomas F. Snyder

Thomas Francis Snyder, Sr. Thomas (Tom) Francis Snyder lost his battle to cancer on Wednesday January 19, 2022, at the age of 80 years old in his hometown of Smyrna, Delaware. He died peacefully surrounded by his family and friends, who will continue to honor his legacy by living their lives to the fullest. His battle with serious medical issues in recent years showed his courage in facing life challenges with a smile. Despite his pain, Tom came out a hero and stayed strong until the end. Tom was born on May 3rd, 1941, in Philadelphia Pennsylvania to Francis Snyder and Agnes Snyder (McKenna). He attended Ascension of Our Lord Catholic grade school and enlisted in the United States Navy at the age of 17. He married his childhood sweetheart, Elaine Snyder (Ready) on June 13, 1959. Together they had two children: Karen and Thomas Jr. They had been married for 62 years. Thomas loved to spend time with his family traveling to Walt Disney World on a yearly basis. He also loved to gather on Sundays for dinners and family conversation. He was always available for family and friends in their time of need, no matter what the cost. Tom is survived by his lovely wife Elaine; daughter Karen Gift (Dennis); grandson Brandon Gift and granddaughter Kimberly Darling (Andrew); three greatgrandchildren, Ryan, MacKenzie and Morgan; two sisters, Bernadette Brisendine and Monica Dent; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be private.
