Kenneth D. Cable Obituary

Kenneth D. Cable, Manhattan, Kansas, went to heaven September 21, 2019 at the age of 84. He is survived by his wife Phyllis, son Kent, daughter Cindy Peterson, daughter-in-law Jackie Middleton, son-in-law Randy Peterson, and granddaughters Sammy Jo & Regan Peterson, Allison & Catherine Cable and Jessica Zidek, along with sisters Doris Greider of Montgomery, TX and Lois Hisel of Denver, CO.

Kenneth was the president of Manhattan Christian College for 25 years, retiring in 2005. During his tenure the college went from the brink of closing to being on a solid financial footing. Other accomplishments included major campus re-development, achieving regional accreditation with North Central Association of College & Schools, creation of the LEAD degree completion program, significant growth in student enrollment, along with strengthened and expanded joint degree programs with Kansas State University.

A celebration of Kenneth's life and legacy will be Saturday, September 28, 2019 at 2:00 pm at the Howie's Activity Center on the campus of Manhattan Christian College. A reception will follow the service.

In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to The Kenneth D. Cable Scholarship Fund at Manhattan Christian College in care of the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home 1616 Poyntz Avenue, Manhattan, Kansas 66502.
