Ronald Lynn Carder, Sr., 82, of Camden passed away on January 16, 2022 at Mon Health Stonewall Jackson Hospital following an extended illness. He was born in Lewis County on June 13, 1939 to the late Doy Jennings Carder and Hazel Juanita (Cox) Carder. Ronald was united in marriage on May 8, 1971 to Bernadine “Sue” Virginia (Conrad) Carder, who survives. They shared 50 years together.

Cherishing the life of Ronald include his wife Sue, 3 children: Amanda Dawn Aman and husband John of Jane Lew, Jeffrey Lee Carder of Camden, and Wendy Kolb and husband Hunter of Jane Lew, 1 step son who Ronald raised as his own Robert Crites of Camden, 3 grandchildren: Kelsey Hall, Ryder Aman, and Kayley Longwell and husband Tanner, 1 sister: Lois Holden of Jane Lew, 3 brothers: Don Carder of Camden, Jim Carder of Weston, Denny Carder and wife Rose of Loveberry, 2 best friends: Ronnie Donaldson and Junie Oldaker, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Ronald was preceded in death by 1 son: Ronald Lynn Carder, Jr., 1 sister: Mary Jo Jones, and 1 brother: Richard Carder.

Ronald was a Methodist by faith. He retired from the Department of Highways with 24+ years of services working as an operator. Ronald had a beloved pug dog named “Honey” that he loved dearly.

Ronald’s wish for cremation has been honored by Hardman Family Funeral Home of Weston. A private burial of cremains will be held at Snyder Cemetery in Churchville, WV at a later date. Online condolences and life stories in memory of Ronald may be expressed at hardmanfamilyfuneralhome.com.
