May 15, 1942 - January 17, 2022<br/><br/><br/>It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of a loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Sister. Passed away on Monday, January 17, 2022 at the Health Science Center, in the presence of her loving family - Rita Lannon of Placentia, at the age of 79 years.<br/><br/>Rita is predeceased by her parents, Leo and Elizabeth Whelan (nee Bishop); her sister, Madonna Greene and other members of her extended Whelan and Lannon families.<br/><br/>Leaving to mourn, her loving Husband and Companion, Leo.<br/>Daughter - Brenda and special Son in-law Ken Viscount and her four Sons - Derek, Glen, Wayne and Leon.<br/>Her special Grandchildren who she loved with all her heart, Vanessa Viscount (Jamie) and Ashley Viscount (Brady); Austin, Madison, Britney, Brookelyn, Colton and Rachael Lannon.<br/><br/>Also left to mourn are her Sisters, Theresa Pendergast, Bernadine Synard, Hilda (Ambrose) Denty, Phyllis (Aloysius) Murphy, Rose (Jerome) Kerrivan and Linda (Ed) Gaulton. Sisters in-law, Irene Lannon (Gerald) and Jean Fulford and brother in-law, Felix Lannon (Tonya) and a large number of her extended family and friends including her special lifetime Friend since childhood, Kathleen Lambe.<br/><br/>We will always love you Mom. You are our special Angel who we will never forget - we will remember you always and love you forever<br/><br/><br/>Visitation will take place at Coombs Funeral Home on Thursday, January 20 from: 2:30-5:00 and 6:30 - 9:00<br/><br/><br/>Funeral Service to take place on Friday, January 21, 2022 at Coombs Memorial Chapel at 11:00 a.m.<br/><br/><br/>Interment to take place in Coombs Memorial Cemetery.<br/><br/><br/>Out of an abundance of caution, we will continue to operate at 50% capacity (20 people per visitation room at one time and 50 guests, including staff and the officiant, for chapel services).
