Graveside services for James William Townlin, 74, of Diana are scheduled for 10:00 AM, Wednesday, January 19, 2022 in Diana at Ashland Cemetery, with Brother Wayne Norvell officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home in Diana. He passed away on Sunday, January 16, 2022 at his residence. He was born on October 19, 1947 in Gilmer, Texas to William and Mary Townlin. He married his loving wife Serita on December 31, 1987 in Diana. James proudly served in the US Navy on the USS Concord. He was a machinist for Wright’s Machine shop and later retired from General Cable. James was a member of Simmons Hill Baptist Church and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and farming. James is survived by his wife, Serita, daughters: Peggy McClenan, Jamie Townlin,and Tammy Townlin, stepdaughters: Elicia Powell and husband Gary and Melinda Copeland, stepson: Taylor Coynor and wife Karon, brother: Jeff Townlin and wife Whitney, sisters: Mary Traywick and husband Donald, Sondra Moore and husband Michael and Mamie Henry and husband Chuck, 15 grandchildren and numerous great-grand children. He is preceded in death by his parents.
