Mrs. Lovie House Obituary

Lovie L. House was born on January 22, 1937 in Turrell, Arkansas to Henry and Mary Wilburn, which proceeded her in death.  She attended Dunbar High School in Earle, Arkansas. 

She was baptized at an early age, and was eventually introduced to her future husband, McCormick House.  They were united in marriage in 1957, and remained in holy matrimony for 53 years. To this union, two children were born, Tasha House-Jones, who resides in Raytown, Missouri, and son Khristian House, who resides in Houston, Texas.

After the couple moved to Kansas City in 1960, they untied in church fellowship at Canaan Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Reverend R.B. Poe.  Lovie served in the choir for a number of years.  Mack and Lovie then united with Kansas City Baptist Temple, under the leadership of Paster Truman Dollar in 1964.  She was in the choir ministry, serving for several years.

Lovie worked as a assembly line worker at General Motors LEEDS plant in Kansas City, Missouri.  She then retired and then began working for the Kansas City, Missouri school district in 1992.  She served with her passion to inspire children for 22 years.

While being a wonderful wife, mother, and employee, she dedicated her extra time to her studies, and received an Associate’s Degree in Electronics from Penn Valley Community College.

Additionally, she served as an employee at Lighthouse Dental, bringing joy in serving the public and staff by keep the facility clean and tidy. She was a cherished employee, and eventually retired in 2021. 

Lovie had a passion for flowers and gardening.  She (and her green thumb) could always be found outside tending to her beautiful plants, bushes, trees, and gardens. 

Lovie went home to be with the Lord on January 16, 2022, at Timberlake Nursing Home.   She was known as a mother, wife, and sister, aunt, neighbor, and friend, and will be dearly missed and cherished by her daughter, Tasha House-Jones (Reginald), Raytown, MO; son, Khristian House (Gina), Houston, TX; a grandson Trey House, Kansas City, MO; siblings: Alberta Porter (d), St Louis, MO; Howard ‘Tump’ Wilburn (d), St. Louis, MO; Liza Mae Williams (d), Paris, CA; Aceal Kennard (d), Paris, CA; Kenaya (d), Earle, AK; Dan Wilburn (d), Chicago, IL; Surmancie Harrison (d), Chicago, IL; Rosie Lee Torrence (d), Pasadena, CA; Lonzilla Davis, Chicago, IL; Howard Wilburn, Los Angeles, CA; and Albert Wilburn (d), Kansas City, MO.
