Douglas E. “Doug” Benton of Leasburg, Missouri was born on Wednesday, April 13, 1960 in Rolla, Missouri to the union of Donald E. and Patricia (Haines) Benton. He left from this life on Sunday, January 16, 2022 at Mercy Hospital in Washington, Missouri at the age of 61. Doug was a machinist for many years in St. Louis, but was most recently employed at Aspeq Heating Group in Cuba assembling heaters. He loved working in his shop building and fixing things, the St. Louis Cardinals, St. Louis Blues and of course spending time with his family. Doug is preceded in death by his parents Donald E. and Patricia (Haines) Benton; one brother-in-law Robert Morris, Sr. Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy are his daughter Jessica and husband Chris Bell of Cuba; two grandchildren Caiden and Savannah Bell; significant other Joyce Hamilton of Cuba; four sisters Gayle and husband William Rice of Springfield, Darlena Morris of Springfield, Valerie Benton and significant other Ronald Greer of Cuba, Kristal and husband John Harris of Strafford; one brother Tobey Benton and significant other Cindy Copeland of Catawissa; aunt, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends. Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 22, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at the Church of Christ 81 Merri Hills Drive, Cuba, Missouri. Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 22, 2022 1:00 p.m. at the Church of Christ with Pastor Dan Morrison, officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to the American Cancer Society. The Mizell Funeral Home of Cuba is honored to be serving the Benton family.April 13, 1960 - January 16, 202204/13/196001/16/2022
