Edward "Ed" Murray Obituary

Edward Martin Murray passed on to his beautiful wife on January 15, 2022, surrounded by the love of his children. He was born on August 3, 1955, a son of the late Glen and Gertrude (Kulaf) Murray. He proudly served in both the Army and the Marines. On May 10, 1985, he married the love of his life, Jodi Noordyk. They spent their years together raising three children in the Kiel area, spoiling grandchildren they adored, and making memories around the bonfire. Through the years, Ed worked in welding at various local companies and enjoyed his time over the grill with Three Guys and a Grill catering company through the summers. Ed, lovingly known as Turtle to many, was endlessly devoted to his wife; was the most protective and loving father to his three children; and was the proudest Papa to his grandkids. He enjoyed many things, but none more than camping at the Marsh with Jodi and their dogs, cheering on the Packers and Brewers with Nathan, being a hunting and shooting enthusiast with Matthew, and watching any DIY home project show with Megan. He loved to cheer proudly from the soccer and baseball sidelines, encourage all the trouble he could, and giggle mischievously with each of the grandkids. He loved taking drives with his dogs and absolutely nothing out there could beat a handful of Smarties and an ice-cold Mountain Dew or Miller High Life. He will be missed by his three children: Nathan (Leah), Megan (Paul Hawver), and Matthew (Cassie); Five grandchildren: Owen, Elaina, Isaiah, Adalynn, and Emmett; six Sisters Geneva Isely, Cindy (Mike) Spradau, Terri (Dan) Stauber, Debbie (Larry) Keuler, Penny Czubkowski (Kenny Fisher), Linda (Dan) Reichardt; and lifelong close friends, Pat and Gordy, as well as his two four legged companions; Beaner and Oliver. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Glen and Gertrude Murray, Mother and Father-in-Law Suzy Noordyk and Ronnie Noordyk, brother Lenord, wife Jodi, and great nephew Jacob Felton. A celebration of life will be held on January 30, 2022, at the Kiel VFW from 1-4 pm (715 10th St, Kiel, WI). In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Ed’s name. The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the care teams that assisted the family. Honoring Ed’s final wishes would not have been possible without the care provided by Shelly of Heartland Hospice, Angie from Dr. Baatz’s office of Holy Family Memorial, and especially Ed’s sister Geneva; for her endless support through his treatment process.
