Larry "Hippy" Dean Howe Obituary

Larry D. “Hippy” Howe was born June 25, 1950 to Lucille Shoopman and Merle Howe in Thermopolis, WY.  He passed away January 11, 2022 at Hot Springs Health after a lengthy illness.

Larry was living at the Wyoming Pioneer Home prior to his passing.  He referred to the WPH as his home and thought highly of the staff that worked there.

Larry worked for a short period of time on drilling rigs.

He enjoyed sharing stories with his coffee shop friends.  The majority of his time was spent driving the streets of Thermopolis.  He never met a stranger and always had a wave, a smile for passersby or “Hi, kiddo”.  His collection of eagles surpassed any gift store!

He was preceded in death by his parents Lucille Wright, Merle Howe and step-dad, Roger Wright, two sisters, Mary Lou Charles and Dena Balstad.

Larry is survived by three brothers, Gene (Phyllis) Howe of Marana, Arizona, Dick (Sandy) Howe of Thermopolis, Mike (Cheryle) Howe of Greybull and one sister, Patti (Tom) Jeunehomme of Thermopolis, several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.

Mortimore Funeral Home is assisting the family.  Messages may be offered at www.mortfh.com.
