Edna Lorraine Crouch Obituary

E. Lorraine "Granny" Crouch, of Oak Ridge, went home to be with her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ Sunday, October 10, 2010 at her home surrounded by her loved ones. Born in McMinn County, she was the daughter of the late E.M. and Cora Barnes. She came to Oak Ridge in 1945 and worked for Tennessee Eastman. She met her husband Maurice G. Crouch and they were married at the Chapel on the Hill in May 1948. They enjoyed 26 yrs together before he passed away in 1975. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a devout Christian and life-long member of Central Baptist Church of Oak Ridge. She belonged to the J.O.Y. group and the Go-Getters group. They went on many trips together. She truly loved her friends. She was also known for babysitting many area children. She also loved her flowers and gardening when she could. In addition to her husband and parents, "Granny" was preceded in death by her sister, Elizabeth Thornton and brothers, Gene Barnes and Lee Barnes and several longtime friends. She is survived by her four children, Becky Norwood, Butch Crouch and wife Rita Mayes Crouch, Debi Young and husband Ted and Michael Crouch and wife Sue Lyle Crouch. Nine grandchildren, Shari Kamel, Stephanie Norwood, Jennifer Kanipes, Chanda Knight, Jeremy Crouch, Emily Baker, Rachel Trammell, Dana Crouch and Amy Patterson. Ten great grandchildren, Stephen Norwood, Teneia Harris, Micha Kamel, Kalie Kamel, Bailey Walker, Jaxsen Kanipes, Natalie Patterson, Kallen Maupin, Skylar Clute and Camryn Knight. The family would like to give special thanks to her caregivers Patty Fritts and Tammy Jones. Also a thanks to Amedisys and Amedisys (Adventia) Hospice Care. The family will receive friends Tuesday, October 12, 2010 from 6 – 8pm at Weatherford Mortuary. The funeral will follow at 8pm with Rev. Dale Hall officiating. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday at 10am at Oak Ridge Memorial Park. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to The American Kidney Foundation and St. Jude's Hospital in Memphis.
