Vaz, Oracio, of Mineola, on January 17, 2022 at the age of 97. Ray was a World War 2 veteran who fought in the Battle at Normandy. Among the many medals he received were 2 Purple Hearts and the Bronze Star. Ray will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was predeceased by his wife of 68 years, Ann. Ray is survived by his children, Caryl (Joel), Anthony (Joy), and Suzanne (John), 7 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, January 24th at Corpus Christi in Mineola at 10:30am. Internment with Military Honors to follow at Pinelawn Cemetery. To honor Ray’s service, donations can be made to Long Island Veterans Home at Stony Brook
