<p>Frankie James Tilk, 86, of Piedmont, MO, passed away Friday, January 14, 2022, at his residence.</p> <p>He was born on August 13, 1935 at Madison County, MO, to parents Frank and Helen (Plake) Tilk.</p> <p>Frankie was raised in rural Madison County and attended and graduated South Iron High School at Annapolis, MO.</p> <p>In the late 1950&rsquo;s he answered the draft to the Army and was stationed in Germany during his service. On September 14, 1968, he married the love of his life, Peggy Firebaugh. The two shared over fifty-three years together.</p> <p>Frankie was a loving husband. He was truly a soft-spoken generous man that enjoyed spending time with children. They enjoyed his stories and all his hunting advice. In spare time he enjoyed hunting and fishing and cleaning up around the home. He meticulously maintained his property and spent hours weed eating, making the place so neat. He worked outside up until he fell ill late last year. Frankie faithfully attended meetings at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah&rsquo;s Witnesses at Van Buren, MO.</p> <p>He will be deeply missed by family and friends.&nbsp;</p> <p>In addition to his wife, Frankie is survived by nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews; sister in laws: Stella Firebaugh of Piedmont; Carol Kelley and husband Kenneth of Ironton, Patty Gore and husband Nathan of Bonne Terre; brother-in-law, Don Firebaugh and wife Ida of Annapolis.</p> <p>In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers: Patrick and Mike Tilk; sister, Kathryn Brewer; and brother-in-law, Robert Firebaugh Jr.</p> <p>A graveside service was held at 1:00 pm, Tuesday, January 18, 2022, in the Tilk Family Cemetery near Annapolis, MO. Speaker Steve Sundstrum officiated. Nathan Gore, Ken Kelley, Kevin Firebaugh, Andrew Firebaugh, Patrick Tilk and Donovon Tilk served as pallbearers.
