Michael G. Hawkins, 59, of Pump Station Road, Harrisonville, PA, died Friday, January 14, 2022 at his home.

Born July 17, 1962 at McConnellsburg, PA, he was a son of the late Norman Hawkins and Sarah (Edwards) Hawkins who survives of Harrisonville, PA. He was married to the former Karen Keebaugh who survives.

He is also survived by one son, Andrew Hawkins and wife Miranda of McConnellsburg, PA, one stepson, Eric Grove of Denver, CO, three siblings, Lester Hawkins and wife Brenda of Waterfall, PA, Nancy Hawkins of New Jersey and Gary Hawkins and wife Sigrid of Waterfall, PA, three uncles, two aunts and a multitude of cousins.

Mr. Hawkins was a graduate of Forbes Road High School in the Class of 1980, Penn State Mont Alto and Shepherd University, Martinsburg, WV. He was an avid sports enthusiast who excelled at basketball through the university level.

He had been employed at JLG Industries, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA and more recently he was the owner/operator of Sideling Hill Sportsman’s Club, Harrisonville, PA.

He was very fond of his cat, Mervin.

A memorial service is being planned for a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Bedford County Humane Society, 182 Bohn Road, Bedford, PA 15522 or to the animal rescue of your choice.
