Shelby - Mrs. Wilma "Mickey" Hamm Wright, 86, passed away on Thursday, January 13, 2022 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center, in Gastonia.
Mrs. Wright was born in Cabarrus County, NC on December 1, 1935 a daughter of the late John Marion Hamm and Pearl Hull Hamm. She retired as a greeter at Wal-Mart in Shelby after 29 years. Mrs. Wright attended New Prospect Baptist Church in Shelby.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Glenn Wright; two sons Thomas Dean George and Gordon Wright and three grandsons, John Turner, Clint Wright and Josh Ferree.
Survivors include three daughters, Debbie Turner and husband Ben; Kim Parker and husband Farrell all of Shelby; Tammy Ferree and husband Duane of Lawndale; a son, Phil Wright and wife, Tammy of Morganton; two sisters, Betty Gantt and Nellie Love and a brother, Tony Hamm all of Kannapolis. Also surviving are a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Monday from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at New Prospect Baptist Church.
The memorial service will be held on Monday at 5:00 PM at New Prospect Baptist Church with the Rev. Chris Devine officiating.
