<p><em><span style="font-family:georgia,serif;"><span style="font-size:14px;"><strong>Nancy Joyce Tibbals, 91, passed away on January 7, 2022 at The Village of South Farms in Middletown, CT.&nbsp; Nancy was born on November 19, 1930 in Wethersfield, CT, the daughter of Sidney Grant Proper and Olive Lohmes Proper.&nbsp; She graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School, Middletown, CT and received her undergraduate degree from Wheaton College and library science master degrees from Southern CT State College and Wesleyan University.&nbsp; While raising her children she had a 25-year career as a librarian working at The Edna C. Stevens Elementary School in Cromwell, CT and Coginchaug Regional High School.&nbsp; Nancy enjoyed theater, playing bridge, traveling, and spending time at the beach in Westbrook, CT.&nbsp;&nbsp; She was an avid reader and was particularly fond of British history, biographies and John LeCarr&eacute; spy novels.&nbsp; Nancy was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Gilbert Gaylord Tibbals and her sister, Barbara Jane Proper.&nbsp; She is survived by her children:&nbsp; David Tibbals and wife Elaine of Rye, NY, Samuel Tibbals of Westbrook, CT, Tracy Eccles and husband, Robert, of Groton, CT and her grandchildren Meredith and Ian Tibbals and Anna and Michael Eccles.&nbsp; The family will hold a private remembrance ceremony.&nbsp;&nbsp; Sam, David and Tracy would like to extend very special thanks to the staff at the Village of South Farms for their dedication and caring compassion.&nbsp;&nbsp; To share memories or send condolences to the family, please visit www.doolittlefuneralservice.com.</strong></span></span></em></p>
