Celia Petronella Grundl Obituary

Celia Grundl died peacefully on January 14th in Fayetteville AR. She was born to Manuel and Manuela Lago in Cueto, Cuba on September 17th, 1935. She is survived by her husband Dan Grundl, brother Bennie Lago and children Peter, Laura, Lisa, Joseph, and Paul. She has 6 grandchildren Jessica, Daniel, Christopher, Rachel, Andrew, Ave and Manuel and great grandchildren Jacob and Falyn.

Her family immigrated to the United States when Cuba fell to the Castro regime. She is preceded in death by Manuel, Manuela, Manuel Jr, Lee, John, Virginia, and Teresa.

Celia loved everyone with whom she came in contact. She was the recess mom at school and enjoyed working in retail while living in Little Rock. She and Dan owned the Brown Bottle, a once elite jazz bar in Little Rock fronted by house band Art Porter Trio and drawing the likes of Woody Herman and Buddy Rich for live shows. Her smile and energy will surely light the heavens.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10am Tuesday January 18th at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 192 E Henri De Tonti Blvd, Springdale, AR. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Online condolences www.WestfieldChapel.com
