Allen Boyd Florence, 90, died Saturday, November 5, 2016 at the University of Kentucky Hospital. Born in Harrison County, June 16, 1926 to the late Shirley and Ruth Florence. He was employed by Bundy Tubing for 24 years, a lifelong farmer, a member of Republican Christian Church and he served in the United States Navy from December 7, 1944 until July 13, 1946 and served on the USS Hamel during World War II. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Virginia Malone Florence and his second wife, Joyce Snapp Florence. He is survived by a son, Phillip (Dana) Florence; a daughter, Shirlene (David) Fowler, Cynthiana; four step-children, Karen (John) Smith, Kenny (Michelle) Delver, Robin (James) Smith and Donnie Coffey; a brother, David (Pat) Florence, Arizona; five grandchildren, Chad Florence, Aaron (Stacy) Asbury, Farrah (Tony) Bottiggi, Adam Asbury and Mitchell Asbury and eight-great-grandchildren, Virginia Ross, Nick Florence, Macy Florence, Chase Asbury, Bella Bottiggi, Luca Bottiggi, AnnaMarie Asbury and Rylan Asbury. Funeral Services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at Ware Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Tuesday. Burial will be in Battle Grove Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Chad Florence, Farrah Florence Bottiggi, Aaron Asbury, Adam Asbury, Mitchell Asbury and Nick Florence. Honorary pallbearers will be David Palmer, Sherale Snapp, Ed Herrington, David Cline. Memorial contributions may be made to Republican Christian Church.
