Charles William Sylvester, Jr., age 76, of Pepperell and formerly of Lowell and Dracut, passed away at Lowell General Hospital on Monday, January 10, 2022. He was the beloved husband of Joanne Leahy Sylvester. Charlie truly loved Joanne. <br><br>He was born in Lowell on March 1, 1945 and was the son of the late Charles and Shirley (Taylor) Sylvester.<br>Charlie grew up in Dracut and graduated from Dracut High School. He then went on and joined the United States Army, where he proudly served his country for 8 years. <br><br>Charlie did Acoustical Ceilings, which he enjoyed very much. In his free time, Charlie loved watching hockey, attending craft fairs, and setting up his train village for the holidays. He also loved traveling, especially to the White Mountains and Florida. Overall, he cherished the time he spent with his beloved wife, Joanne, his grandchildren, and great grandchildren. <br><br>In addition to his wife, Charlie is survived by his children Kimberly Joyal and her husband Rene, Ralph Sylvester and his partner Judy Montmarquet; Joanne’s children, Jolynn VanDinter and her husband Walter Jr., Nicole White and her husband Greg; his grandchildren Rylee Joyal and his wife Michelle, Andrew Sylvester and his partner Shannon Wakeford, Alyssa Sylvester and her partner John Nicholgides, and Danny Sylvester; Travis and Nicholas VanDinter, Hailey, Myra, and Declan White; his great grandchildren Raiden, and Charlotte Joyal, his siblings Robert Sylvester and his wife, Johnnie Ann, Joseph Sylvester and his wife Sherry, and Linda Masse, and many nieces and nephews.<br><br>Predeceased by his parents, his first wife Cheryl Nolin Sylvester and his brother in-law, Edward Masse.<br><br>Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, January 15th from 11am to 2pm at DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Avenue, DRACUT. A brief prayer service will follow the visitation at 2pm. Masks are required, and social distancing guidelines will be in place. Interment private. In lieu of flowers memorial donation may be made to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105 or to Shriners Hospital, 51 Blossom St., Boston MA, 02114.

Charles William Sylvester, Jr., age 76, of Pepperell and formerly of Lowell and Dracut, passed away at Lowell General Hospital on Monday, January 10, 2022. He was the beloved husband of Joanne Leahy Sylvester. Charlie truly loved Joanne.

He was born in Lowell on March 1, 1945 and was the son of the late Charles and Shirley (Taylor) Sylvester.
Charlie grew up in Dracut and graduated from Dracut High School. He then went on and joined the United States Army, where he proudly served his country for 8 years.
