ALONGI, Ruth Bella passed away peacefully on April 15th after a long illness. She was 93 years old of Allendale, NJ. She is survived by a family that loved her and that was loved by her: her son Thomas and his wife April; her daughter Susan and her husband John; grandchildren Michael, Thomas and Kevin; Sean and his wife Heather; Joseph and his wife Noelle, and James and his wife Jackie. She loved people, she loved life and she loved to dance. She was a lifetime member of the VFW and American Legion and one of the founders of Parents Without Partners in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. She was a regular at Crestwood Lake every summer along with her friends "The Shady Ladies" and a member of many social groups in the area. "When in doubt, go out" she would always say. Her greatest legacy was the incredible number of people she would visit regularly in hospitals, nursing homes and at their homes. If you were Ruth's friend you were never forgotten. The family will receive family and friends on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at the Van Emburgh-Sneider-Pernice Funeral Home, 109 Darlington Ave, Ramsey, NJ from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, April 21st at Guardian Angel R.C. Church in Allendale at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her name to the Allendale Ambulance Corps, 26 Arcadia Rd., Allendale, NJ 07401.
