Reed, Julian Alexander Arnott - Peacefully, on Thursday January 6, 2022 at the Georgetown Hospital. Julian, in his 86th year, beloved husband of Deanna for 61 years. Loving father of Chris, Rob (Paula) and Melanie (Jeff) Doupe. Loved grandpa of Elgin, Avery, Shannon and Weston. Dear brother of Laurie (Judith). Julian was predeceased by his sister Prudence and by his brother King. Julian was honored to be elected by the constituents in his riding (Halton) and was very proud to serve the people of his riding during his political tenure. He was first elected to the Ontario legislature in 1975 and twice thereafter. In 1993, he was elected to the federal Parliament, also serving for an additional two elections. Julian's varied life history included singing leads in musicals put on in Kitchener's Centre in the Square. These included: The King and I; A Fiddler on the Roof; Carousel and more. Early in his career he referred to himself as an "actor-farmer". Julian will be forever remembered for the love of his family, his passion for farming, music, live stage theatre and the community of Norval. A public visitation and celebration of Julian's life will take place at a later date when current Covid-19 restrictions have been eased and is safe to gather.
