Gordon D. Otis

Gordon D. Otis, age 75, of Lakeville, passed from this world on Wednesday December 22, 2021, surrounded by those he loved and held close in his heart. Gordon leaves his wife and best friend Janet M. (Dillon) Otis, to whom he was married to for almost 52 years, his son Mark and his wife Elizabeth of Grafton, and his daughter Kimberly of Fall River. Gordon, or Papa to the kids, was blessed with three sweet and loving grandchildren, Madison and Zachary of Grafton, and Kaine Kaminski of Fall River. He also adored his faithful companion, Lexi, his golden retriever who never left his side. Gordon was born on Saturday May 11, 1946, in Fulton, NY, and was the son of the late Mabel (Sothered) and Donald M. Otis. He graduated from SUNY at Alfred where he met Janet and their relationship began. Over the better part of 40 years, he bought and sold toys. The perfect job for a man whose smile would light up a room and whose laughter was contagious. He dedicated his life to his family. He loved being home enjoying the simpler moments in life. He was truly one of a kind. Now that his soul has been released from all the trials and tribulations that all those with Alzheimer’s disease struggle with, we pray that he enjoys every sunset on the shore of Marco Island. Till we can walk side by side once again, in the afterlife, he will be greatly missed! A celebration of Gordon’s life will be held on Sunday January 9, 2022, at Baldies Craft Pizzeria, 40 Main Street Lakeville, MA 02347, from 1:00 – 4:00PM, appetizers, beer and wine will be served. Gordon wanted and deserved a party! In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Gordon’s name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or the Alzheimer’s Bright Focus Foundation, 22512 Gateway Center Drive, Clarksburg, MD 20871.
