Diane Lenore Foster Obituary

Diane Lenore Foster (née Christenson), of Summerland, passed away on the 19th of Dec 2021, at the age of 79 at the Moog and Friends Hospice House in Penticton, BC. Born on August 25th, 1942, to John and Dorothy Christenson (née Hyndman), in Edmonton, and raised in Red Deer AB, with her sister, Lynne, and brother, John. On May 20th, 1966, she was married to Kenneth Dey Foster of Calgary, in Red Deer AB. She gave birth to their son Brian on July 13, 1971, in Quebec City. Ken and Diane spent over 20 years in Lac Beauport, QC, where she became an avid weaver and served over 10 years as an active member of the local artists and artisans council, organizing yearly exhibitions. In 1990, she and Ken moved to Ottawa, ON where she worked for the Canadian Nurses Association until her retirement to Summerland, with Ken, in 2000. There, she continued her passion for art, joining the Summerland Pleasure Painters group, and enjoyed swimming and playing golf. She became a grandmother on September 8th, 2010, with the birth of grandson Evan, to her son, Brian, and his wife, Diane Bovenkamp. She had a fearless, generous spirit, a lovely smile and a big laugh. She is survived by her loving family and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. No Memorial Service currently set to take place.
