<p>Wakefield, NH&nbsp;</p> <p>Peggy Ann (Moody) Richards, of Wakefield NH, passed away Sunday January 2nd, 2022 at Wentworth Douglass Hospital, Dover, NH after a long period of failing health.</p> <p>She was born December 17th, 1944 at Frisbee Hospital, Rochester NH, the oldest daughter of Theodore &amp; Ruth Moody.</p> <p>Peggy attended schools in Milton NH where she graduated from Nute High School class of 1962.&nbsp; Peggy often told stories of the best times of her young life, was attending school, playing basketball, volleyball &amp; softball. One of her proudest accomplishments was receiving the Sportsmanship Award for all 4 years of her high school career.</p> <p>After high school she attended college at Plymouth State University. During this time she lived with her Grammy Golden who she loved so dearly and who also was immensely good to her.</p> <p>After a time Peggy settled in Wakefield NH where she me the love of her life Doug.&nbsp; They were wed on May 22, 1970.&nbsp; For 51 years they loved, laughed and weathered many storms. The two together joined the family business, Richards Market &amp; DP Video, and eventually were the owners for 25 years after Doug&rsquo;s family retired.&nbsp; During this time Peggy employed so many of the Wakefield youth and made a lasting impact on their lives.&nbsp; Right up until Peggy&rsquo;s last days, Doug was the one constant that she counted on and their love never wavered.</p> <p>Throughout the years Peggy was involved in many community activities such as W.A.Y., Wakefield Area Youth where she coached &amp; was instrumental in getting a recreation program for the Town of Wakefield.&nbsp; Peggy was also a member of the Congregational Church of Wakefield which was a community that she loved dearly. Here she helped to teach Sunday school and more recently participated in the Dress a Girl Project for the young girls of Zimbabwe. During summers Peggy would coordinate foreign exchange student stays in the Wakefield community. Peggy was a member of the Lovell Lake Association for over 30 years. In 1993 Peggy received the Citizen of the Year from the Wakefield Chamber of Commerce.&nbsp; Peggy spent many years involved with parks &amp; recreation, was a member of the Wakefield School board &amp; later in life went back to career she loved in medical transcription at Wentworth Douglass Hospital where she retired in 2010 as the transcription coordinator.</p> <p>&nbsp;Over the years working with children was something that Peggy loved to do but her 2 daughters, Jill &amp; Chris were her everything.&nbsp; She helped to coach; she became a team mom for all the sports they were involved in and so much more.&nbsp; Peggy made the life they lived possible.&nbsp; Always putting them first, and this made her happy and it showed in her overwhelming love &amp; sacrifice for them both.&nbsp; She was always determined to give her girls what she didn&rsquo;t have growing up.</p> <p>If you were to have asked Peggy what made her most happy she would have answered her grandchildren, Abby, Alex, Abby, Bonnie, Grace, Jennifer and Madeleine.&nbsp; She was always so proud of their accomplishments and the young individuals they have grown up to be.&nbsp; Being a grandmother was her most favorite activity.</p> <p>Peggy lived a full and active life. She had so much love for many activities and the people she shared these experiences with.&nbsp; She loved all of her dogs &amp; cats, quilting &amp; quilting classes with her girls, scrapbooking weekend retreats, card making, letter writing, her monthly Lunch Bunch meet up, reading, sewing, four wheeling in Pittsburgh, campfires lakeside at Lovell Lake with the North Roberts Cove families, snow skiing, traveling throughout Europe, family vacations to Mexico &amp; countless family gatherings that made her heart happy and instilled in those around her the same overwhelming love of all things Family &amp; Friends that she exuded her entire life.</p> <p>Peggy was predeceased by her parents, her brothers Terry &amp; Michael, her sister Colleen &amp; her niece Karina.</p> <p>She is survived by her husband Doug Richards, daughters Jill and her husband Mark, Chrissy and her husband Gary, 7 grandchildren, her sisters, Kathy, Linda, Kim, Chris, Tammy &amp; Erin, Brothers Tim, Jamie, &amp; Danny.
