Mary Lou Sharp Obituary

Mary Lou Sharp, 94, of Billings, OK passed away peacefully at Perry on January 5, 2022.

Family services will be held at Billings First Baptist Church on Saturday, January 8th at 11:00 followed by graveside service at Union Cemetery at Billings Oklahoma on Saturday, January 8th at 11:45 a.m.  For everyone’s safety we are restricting the church services and grave site to family only due to the recent highly contagious Covid outbreak.

Mary Lou was born on April 2, 1927 at Fitzhugh, OK to Dayton Leonard and Ola Laura Morgan. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Russell Sharp; older sisters, Estelle Morgan Reneau and Ethel Morgan Perrin; and younger brother, Howard Morgan.

Mary and her husband, Russell, were married Dec. 13, 1949. They made their home in the Billings area where they farmed and raised their family.  She enjoyed spending time with her family, sewing clothes and quilts for her grandchildren and cooking big meals for family gatherings on holidays.   She was the happiest when she could hold and rock her grandbabies and great grandbabies.  In her late years, she enjoyed sitting on her front porch and watching the birds come to the feeders as well as listening to the sounds of the peaceful country life.

She is survived by her three children, Laura Smith (and husband, Ted of Stillwater, OK), Kirt Wayne Sharp (and wife, Regina of Billings, OK) and Jo Lynne Stephens (and husband, Steve of Stillwater, OK). She was also blessed to be the grandmother to 7 grandchildren; Katy Smith Maxwell, Morgan Smith, Karry Sharp Easterly, Terry Sharp England, Sherry Sharp Cochrane, Mary (Beth) Sharp and Zach Stephens. She also has 7 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her older brother, Leonard Morgan and many beloved nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Alzheimer’s Association www.alz.org.

Friends are welcome to stop by Dugger Funeral Home 120 W Main Street Billings, OK on Friday 1/7/22 from 10 am until 5 pm to sign her guestbook and pay their respects.
