<p>Anna Mae Smeal, 85, of Houtzdale, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2022.</p> <p>Born October 10, 1936 in Houtzdale she was a daughter of the late Emil J. and Martha (Courtot) Huber.</p> <p>Anna Mae was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Houtzdale, and had worked at the former General Cigar.</p> <p>She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and aunt who loved caring for others, especially children.</p> <p>On April 19, 1969 she married Edward L. Smeal of West Decatur. Anna Mae is survived by her husband; brother, James Huber of Chester Hill; two sons, Edward A. Smeal of Willow Grove and Robert L. Smeal of Houtzdale; and four grandchildren.</p> <p>Preceding her in death were her parents, brothers Karl, Emil Jr., Charles, Bill, Jack, and sisters Louise Harsomchuck and Cora Mae Boulton.</p> <p>A funeral service will be held at the Birger A. Freeberg Funeral Home Inc., 200 David Street, Houtzdale, on Saturday January&nbsp;8, 2022 at noon with Pastor William Conway officiating.</p> <p>&nbsp;Anna Mae will be laid to rest in the American Legion Cemetery, Brisbin.</p> <p>Friends will be received at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service.</p> <p>&nbsp;In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Anna Mae&#39;s memory to First Presbyterian Church, 744 Brisbin St. Houtzdale, Pa. 16651.</p> <p>Online condolences to the family may be made at www.birgerafreebergfuneralhome.com.</p>

Anna Mae Smeal, 85, of Houtzdale, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2022.

Born October 10, 1936 in Houtzdale she was a daughter of the late Emil J. and Martha (Courtot) Huber.

Anna Mae was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Houtzdale, and had worked at the former General Cigar.
