Rick Castle Obituary

Rick Castle, 59, earned his heavenly wings as he joined the other angels on October 28, 2016, at the Oxford Health and Rehab Home in Oxford. He grew up in Pontotoc and attended the Pontotoc City Schools before moving to Tupelo where he worked several sales jobs. Even though Rick battled an addiction most of his life, he was a Christian. Many days turned into challenges for him, but he always faced them with a smile literally giving away his possessions to those in need. He never failed to let folks know he was praying for them if needed. Sometimes environment and circumstance can make it harder to overcome an addiction. Then it becomes harder to turn back. A sense of purpose gets lost. Song lyrics come to mind for those who face these kinds of battles. Someday Ill wish upon a star and wake up where the clouds are far behind me. Where troubles melt like lemon drops, Away above the chimney tops, Thats where youll find me....If happy little bluebirds fly, Beyond the rainbow, Why and oh why cant I? Rick, now you can. And on your way to Heaven when you cross over Rainbow Bridge to find your dogs, give Harvey a pat on the head! Peace now. Rick is survived by two sisters, Lisa Wilson of Oxford and Jima Sneed of Germantown, TN, and two half brothers, James Castle and John Castle, both of Amory. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jamie Castle, and his father, Jimmy Castle, and his grandparents Grady and Emma Cook. Waller Funeral Home of Oxford is in charge of cremation. There will be no visitation or service. Memorials can be made to the Oxford-Lafayette Humane Society at 413 McElroy Dr., Oxford, MS 38655.
