Joyce Gayle Kauffman, 64, of Arthur, IL passed away at 6:21 P.M. on Friday, December 31, 2021 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Mattoon, IL. 

Due to Covid restrictions, there will be a private family graveside service at Jonathan Creek Cemetery on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at 10:00 A.M.  Rev. Tim Henderson will officiate.  The Edwards Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.  

Joyce was born on September 4, 1957 in Tuscola, IL.  She was the daughter of Clarence Allen and Edith Caroline (Williams) White.  She was a graduate of Villa Grove High School in 1975.  Joyce married Elva “Pete” Kauffman on July 1, 1977 in Villa Grove, IL.  She was a member of the Jonathan Creek Christian Church in Sullivan, IL.  Her and her husband Elva spent many years traveling together as part of their transportation business.

Joyce leaves behind her husband, Elva “Pete” Kauffman, siblings, Jesse (Nancy) White of Camargo, IL; Dianne (Glen) Workman of Ingraham, IL, and Debbie Sharp of Ingraham, IL, brothers-in-law, Dale (Louise) Kauffman and Paul (Fern) Kauffman and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her in-laws, Levi and Mary Kauffman, brother, Jeffrey White, nephew, Wendall Kauffman and her grandparents.  

Joyce took pride in collecting genealogy for her family.  She was an active member of her church and community.

Joyce was the backbone of her family and will be greatly missed.  The family would like to thank all the medical staff at Sarah Bush Lincoln Heath Center for their compassionate and attentive care and all the prayers and concerns that were shown to the family during this difficult time.

Memorials may be made to the Jonathon Creek Church in Joyce’s name.
