Bette-Lynn Manskie Obituary

Bette-Lynn Manskie, 76, of Hoover, AL, peacefully passed away on December 31, 2021, surrounded by loved ones after a short illness.

She was born in New Jersey but lived a large portion of her life in Slidell, LA, where she retired from the St. Tammany Parish School system as a longtime educator.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Kenneth E. Manskie, and her parents, John and Elizabeth Phillips.

She is survived by her children, Kenneth J. Manskie (Margaret) and Tammy Leong (David); brother Jack Phillips; and 7 grandchildren: Mara, Kyra, Max, and Krista Manskie and Matthew, Rachel, and Sarah Leong.

She was an amazing, loving, strong and selfless woman who put family first and will live forever in our hearts and minds. She will be missed but never forgotten. Due to COVID concerns, the family has decided to forego a traditional funeral service but plans to hold a memorial prayer service at a later date at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, where she was an active parishioner.

In lieu of flowers, Masses are preferred.
